While most places in the UK eat pancakes and have pancake races on Shrove Tuesday, Scarborough takes to the foreshore and skips. For about a century the people of our little seaside town have taken to the seafront with ropes from the harbour, or more likely the £1 shop these days, while carrying on an amazing tradition.
This year they also held the annual pancake race on the seafront and brought two events together. This was the greatest idea and made the whole day into a great event.
